As part of its continued efforts to help promote savings and investment among the Overseas Filipino market, BdO Unibank, Inc. has partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment, National Reintegration Center for OFWs, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration for the launching of the OFW advocacy jingle Mag-impok, Magnegosyo.The advocacy jingle, interpreted by BdO Remit ambassador and the country’s top leading manPiolo Pascual and composed by multi-awarded songwriter Vehnee Saturno, is in support to the government agencies’ undertaking “OFW Mag-impok, Magnegosyo Movement” that was launched in 2013.
The OFW M3 is a series of organized information-sharing and learning activities aimed at empowering OFWs towards a culture of savings, investment, and entrepreneurship through awareness-raising activities in various government offices across the country and abroad.
BdO Remittance Distribution senior vice president and head Genie Gloria hopes Piolo would serve as an inspiration to the OFWs and their families to bring to life the mission of the OFW M3 project.
“We thank DoLE, NRCO, and OWWA for giving us the opportunity to help inculcate among our kababayans the value of savings and investment through our endorser Piolo Pascual. We hope that Piolo, who was once an OFW himself, will inspire our countrymen to imbibe the importance of financial literary in securing a better future for their families,” Gloria said.
For her part, Labor and Employment Sec. Rosalinda Baldoz said, “This song composed by Mr. Vehnee Saturno and rendered into life by Piolo Pascual is very appropriate to the message DoLE and OWWA wish to impart to all OFWs and their families. In fact, a message that could apply to all Filipinos. Of course, our private sector partner BdO equally deserves our gratitude.”
